European champions league is one of the most watched soccer league in the world and has an estimated 15 billion fans supporting different teams. Soccer is the main economic component of the European nations as soccer generates a lot of money through commercial rights, TV rights, advertisements etc. Teams such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan, Chelsea, Manchester City have made their player super millionaires without even kicking the ball.
Do these players really deserve this hefty pay? May be, may be not! Great players such as Diego Armando Maradona, Pele, Eric Cantona, Kevin Keagan, Sir Bobby Robson, Ruud Gullit, Juan Roman Riquelme, Ryan Giggs are such legends that were nurtured by champions League.Which team will win this year? Who will be the player of the year? It is hard to predict - the favorites, Real Madrid with all their star studded line fail to impress. Madrid have world class players in Christiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Raul,Higuain, etc, but they faltered to Lyon. Will the Argentine soccer wizard, Messi follow the footsteps of Diego Maradona to single handedly  inspire Barcelona to win the covetous cup?! Messi is a jewel of a genius and can win a game from nothing - That is the mark of a soccer star. I reckon Manchester United will triumph due to their collective fighting spirit, team work, hard work and the attitude of the best and longest serving Manager, Sir Alex Ferguson.
The tactical manager has many times inspired the Reds to major trophies even without their best players! Many talented and influential players have left Old Trafford and many thought that the empire will fall down.David Beckham, Andrei Kalchenkskis, Eric "The King" Cantona, Christiano, Van Nistelrooy - the list is endless - and they all left when they were top of their game and failed to win major trophies for their new teams.  Instead the Scot has proved that star players cannot win games, but what wins games is following the Manager's instructions. Will Sir Alex repeat the 1999 magic?! I believe that he is capable of winning more trophies before he retires from the game.
